Falmouth Academy was ranked one of the best private high schools in Massachusetts.

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth Academy is among the best private high schools in Massachusetts, according to a new survey.

The school was ranked No. 26 in Massachusetts. Andover’s Phillips Academy in Andover was ranked the best in Massachusetts—and the entire country.

The education research group based the rankings on statistics, student and parent reviews, and expert insights. Ranking factors include SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, student and parent reviews, and more.

Here’s how Falmouth Academy fared on the survey:

  • College readiness: A+
  • Four-year matriculation rate: 100 percent
  • Student culture and diversity: C
  • Student-teacher ratio: 4-1

Falmouth Academy was founded in 1977 and now has an enrollment of about 190 students in grades 7-12. The school built the first wind turbine in Falmouth and says it recycles 70 percent of its waste as part of its “green” mission.
