Falmouth Resident Wins $1 Million In MA Lottery Game

FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth man recently claimed his $1 million lottery prize, which ended up short of the $1 million mark after taxes.

Luciano Bastos, of East Falmouth, won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant ticket game, officials said.

Bastos chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes.

His winning ticket was purchased at Express Mart, 360 Mac Arthur Blvd., Buzzards Bay. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the ticket, officials said.
