Falmouth Road Race Registration Opens Soon

Locals hoping to run in the upcoming race will have a week to register ahead of the general registration period. Here's what to know.

FALMOUTH, MA — The starting line for the Falmouth Road Race hasn't yet been placed, but the starting line to register is very close.

The ASICS Falmouth Road Race has officially announced the registration dates for the 53rd annual event taking place Aug. 17. The Falmouth resident application window will be open from May 1 to May 7, followed by general registration for non-Falmouth residents, which will be open from May 8 to May 17.

Falmouth residents and taxpayers (residential real estate owners) are allowed guaranteed entry to the ASICS Falmouth Road Race as a courtesy, pending verification.

For non-residents, the selection process is done at random. Those looking to register for their chance to participate can visit the ASICS Falmouth Road Race website.

Registrants may create a team of up to 15 people for the purpose of registration only. This way the team is selected, or not, as a whole. This year, the race will collect payment information during the registration process to streamline the random selection process and allow for faster confirmation of entry into the event, officials said.

Falmouth Road Race, Inc. also offers the opportunity to join a charity team through its Numbers for Nonprofits program, where accepted runners are guaranteed an entry while raising money for a great cause.

The Numbers for Nonprofits program is presented in partnership with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, who have been participating in the program for 22 years. The program has helped raise over $71.54 million for Massachusetts-based charity organizations since 2000, which includes a record-breaking $7.81 million raised at the 2024 event.

Charity teams and team captain contact information can be found on the ASICS Falmouth Road Race website under the Run for a Charity Team page.

“Each year, more and more runners express their desire to celebrate the summer with us on Cape Cod and we strive to give them the best experience possible,” said Megan Faulkner, executive director of Falmouth Road Race, Inc.

“I’ve been with this amazing organization for over 13 years now, and still year-after-year I am just as excited as the first year I was a part of race weekend. The organizers, the runners, the spectators, and everyone in between are what make the ASICS Falmouth Road Race the world-renowned event it is today, and I can’t wait to experience another action-packed race weekend come August.”

Race weekend also features a variety of other events.

The invitational Falmouth Track Festival, presented by ASICS, will welcome elite milers on Friday, Aug. 15, and features the 14th annual Tommy Cochary High School Mile for local high school athletes.

The following day, the SBLI Family Fun Run will host kids ages 2-12 to compete in their own races, while also providing an abundance of booths and activities for all to enjoy.

Throughout the weekend, the Health & Fitness Expo will be taking place, welcoming over 20,000 visitors to browse the various booths featuring the latest in running, fitness and uniquely Cape Cod items.

This year, the ASICS Falmouth Road Race is celebrating its 50th anniversary of the Wheelchair division. The first official wheelchair race happened in 1975, making the Falmouth Road Race the first race in the country to host a wheelchair race.
