Falmouth Schools Closed Friday

A blizzard forced the closure of Falmouth schools for the second day in a row.

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth schools will be closed Friday after a blizzard dumped nearly 2 feet of snow on town. The blizzard knocked out power to more than 7,000 in Falmouth.

"Due to current weather conditions and because many of our families are without power, all schools will be closed tomorrow," Falmouth school officials said in a statement Thursday. "All before and after school, as well as evening activities and clubs are also (canceled). Thank you for supporting our efforts in keeping all students and staff safe."

Falmouth schools were also closed Thursday due to the blizzard. The snow was expected to wind down Thursday night. Friday will be frigid, with wind chill values hovering around zero.
