Falmouth Sex Offender Alert

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police issued an alert for a convicted sex offender in town.

Jovinol Fernandes, 53, of 34 Rock Hollow Dr., is a Level 3 sex offender. Level 3 means an offender is at a “high risk” to offend again.

Fernandes was convicted in 2007 of assaulting a child under the age of 14.

His conviction requires that he register his home and work addresses with police each year. Falmouth police this week issued the alert based on his annual registration requirement. Fernandes also works at 21 Trotter Dr. in Medway, Mass.

“The Sex Offender Registry Board ... has determined that this individual is at a high risk to re-offend and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active community notification,” police said in a statement.

Police reminded the public it’s illegal to use this information to commit a crime.
