Falmouth Town Election 2023 Voter Guide
Falmouth's 2023 Town Election is scheduled for Tuesday. Here's what to know ahead of the polls opening.
FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth Town Elections are upon us, with the polls opening bright and early on Tuesday.
On the ballot this year are races for multiple town boards and offices, as well as town meeting members for precincts across the town. In-person early voting has already taken place, clearing the way for the remaining town voters to cast their ballots on Tuesday.
There is also a ballot question seeking to decide whether tax money will go toward funding more than a dozen new firefighter salaries.

What's On The Ballot
There are two selectmen seats open and multiple seats on the school committee, planning board, municipal light board and public library trustee.

The planning board race isn't much of one, however, as three incumbents are running for three open seats. This is also true for the municipal light board, which has five candidates running for five spots, and the open one-year term on the school committee, which has one candidate running for one seat.
Town meeting members are also up for election in precincts 1-8, and there's one ballot question.

Municipal Light Board
Before we get to the candidates, a quick explainer on how term length is decided in this election.
Five candidates will be elected to the municipal light board, but their vote totals will determine how long they serve. The two candidates receiving the highest number will serve three-year terms. The two with the second highest totals will serve two-year terms, and the final candidate will serve for one year.

Ballot Question
Voters will also determine whether Falmouth will use tax dollars to fund salaries for 14 new firefighters.
A vote for yes means Falmouth will assess an additional $950,000 in real estate and personal property taxes to fund wages, benefits and expenses associated with hiring the 14 new firefighters for the next fiscal year, which begins on July 1, 2023.

Polls at all nine precincts open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. in Falmouth. Here's where each is located:

- Precinct 2, Falmouth Community Veteran's Center, 300 Dillingham Ave.
- Precinct 3, Falmouth High School Gym, 874 Gifford St.
- Precinct 4, St. Anthony's Lodge Building, 167 E. Falmouth Highway
- Precinct 5, St. Elizabeth Seton Church Hall, 481 Quaker Rd.
- Precinct 6, Falmouth High School Gym, 874 Gifford St.
- Precinct 7, Waquoit Congregational Church Hall, 15 Parsons Ln.
- Precinct 8, Navigator Club, 55 Ashumet Rd.
- Precinct 9, Jewish Congregation Community Center, 7 Hatchville Rd.
