Falmouth Turbine Proposals Blown Away By Oil Prices
Massachusetts financial logic dictates low oil prices "stick a fork" in wind turbine project

The two town-owned gear-driven megawatt wind turbines were installed in 2010 and 2012 without permits or zoning board hearings. The town was warned prior to construction the turbines generate 110 decibels each for a total of 113 decibels equal to a rock band playing 24/7.
The Massachusetts courts shut down the turbines in June of 2017. ARRA funds should not have been used to create a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety related to the implementation or use of covered funds.
The Town of Falmouth still owes 3.5 million plus 2 percent interest on a five million dollar American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Loan brokered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

Falmouth Town Meeting voted 2.5 million to move and run one of the antique turbines in another town to meet the requirements of a $3.5 million ARRA grant that says Wind 2 must operate or the town has to pay back the money. It's been three years since the turbine was shut down by the courts.
Oil prices have crashed as a result of Saudi Arabia and Russia pouring oil into the market.

It is a price crash that has profound consequences for the global transition to wind turbine energy especially the Town of Falmouth and the two 10 to 15-year-old wind turbines.
Firstly, it means oil companies will shift to focus on natural gas production, sending prices down, and making wind less competitive as a source of electricity.
The economics of the oil price crash on state and local governments is seen as a negative for renewable wind energy. When state and local governments are forced to cut spending, it is likely that renewable investments and subsidies for wind turbines will be among the first to go.
The industrial wind has always been a bunco scheme of enormous consequence. The taxpayers of Falmouth who value intellectual honesty should not quietly be fleeced by such mendacity, even from their government officials.
The Town of Falmouth has not provided an update on its 2.5 million wind turbine disassembly plan since November of 2019 and plans to spend more money down the road ?
Feb.06 2020 -- Wind turbines, meant to produce clean energy, are creating tons of waste. Huge turbine blades are not easy to recycle and are instead piling up in many landfills.
