Falmouth Turbines Expose Lethality of Offshore Wind

The two Falmouth town-owned wind turbines are the worst sited wind turbines in the United States. The same foreign company that installed these turbines is going to install 84 offshore wind turbines.

In January of 2019, the Falmouth Select Board voted not to operate either Wind 1 or Wind 2 again in Falmouth. The Massachusetts courts in multiple rulings June of 2017 two years ago the turbines are a nuisance and shut them down.

The Select Board in January the same night board unanimously voted to direct Town Manager and Town Counsel to prepare three requests for proposals (RFPs).

The Falmouth town manager said they were paying their engineering firm to come up with an RFP, Request for Proposal for the wind turbines by July 15, 2019. The engineering firm is the same company that helped install the wind turbines!

The town has a long history of hiding memos, emails, maps and a warning letter from the manufacturer of the wind turbines. In particular, a letter showing the turbines generate 110 decibels of noise each.

Nine months later after the Falmouth Select Board requested the none existant RFP to take down the wind turbines there is no written correspondence with any Massachusetts state agencies over the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act loan brokered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for the second Falmouth wind turbine called Falmouth Wind II. Unless of course the town is using the phone lines to avoid FOIA, Freedom of information Act Request.

Massachusetts politicians knew well in advance the Falmouth wind turbines and twenty-one other communities would suffer health effects from these turbines yet went forward for a global political agenda.

These same politicians are now working with foreign companies with foreign financing to install hundreds of ocean turbines with hundreds of miles of high voltage cables hooked up to Electric Service Platforms to destroy the marine environment and the fishing industry.

Massachusetts politicians and news media are well aware of the safety issues that took place at the Block Island ocean wind farm and continue to lie by omission.

The fishing industry wants 6000 feet between turbines. On January 1, 2019, in or around the Block Island wind turbines spaced 2500 feet apart the fishing vessel Mistress called in a distress. The Coast Guard helicopters could not reach the boat and two fishermen died. There is no Coast Guard incident report as the investigation was handed off to the Rhode Island State Police. The politicians have an agenda that does not include health and safety.

The Block Island wind farm was installed over 5 years ago and has exposed high voltage electric cables these cables have never been repaired and probably won't until someone gets hurt.

Block Island residents were told their electric rates would drop 40 percent if they accepted the wind farm but today five years later there was no savings.

The Massachusetts news media is reproducing statehouse press releases that the new ocean wind turbine farms will reduce your electric rates when in fact they are going to become a second mortgage on your house.

Today it's not what you read it's what did they leave out to take your health safety and your money to help a foreign wind turbine company at your expense.
