Falmouth Turbines: SelectBoard Sets Stage To Burn Taxpayers Again
Falmouth Officials Intentionally Mislead Public Over New Wind Turbine Location -News Media Guilty By Omission - Industrial Area Now A Risk

The wind turbine meeting last October 15, 2018, was a dog and pony show poorly orchestrated by the Select Board to hire more law firms at taxpayer expense. This ongoing dog and pony show is part of an eight-year political three-ring circus. A situation of complete confusion, as in It was a three-ring circus, with the Select Board asking questions, the engineering firm presenting the study, limited to ten minutes of questions by citizens, and no input by the town attorney.
One week ago Falmouth officials introduced the new study to move Falmouth Wind II to a new location. Local officials admit Falmouth Wind I will come down and never spin again.
The speaker at the Select Board Meeting told the public they were going to use the old wind turbine studies to place Falmouth Wind II further to the East at a cost of 3 million dollars. The study does not include the possibility of blade replacement at around 3 million for all three blades and gearbox bearings near 1 million considered normal maintenance between 5 and 10 years.

Falmouth has a major problem with the current acoustic noise studies as there are no studies for both 110-decibel wind turbines operating together. The wind turbine director at the Massachusetts Clean Center admitted in 2013 the Falmouth wind turbines were installed Ad Hoc. The town, in addition, hid emails and a warning letter prior to the construction of Falmouth Wind II that both turbines generate 110 decibels of chest pounding noise.
The Town Manager the chief administrative officer of the town implementing the goals and carry out the policies of the Board of Selectmen told the public at the meeting the privately owned wind turbine has been operating for years with no problems.

The privately owned wind turbine is the same make and model as the town wind turbines located in the Falmouth Technology Park which was installed with a Special Permit. Many of you may remember the lawsuits over this private wind turbine and the town wind turbines how quickly we forget?
The Town Manager statement is misleading as in January and February of 2018 the privately owned wind turbine was shut down to replace bearings in the gearbox with the blades taken down and called routine maintenance. The work on the 400 foot plus wind turbine with a crane taller than the wind turbine was hard to miss from almost anywhere on Cape Cod.
The news media is well aware of the privately owned wind turbine "routine maintenance" as it appeared on the front page of their sites and papers. The media failed to publish the cost of the repairs and failed to follow up on the statement made by the Town Manager statement last week. This is called lying by omission.
Many ask why local reporters fail to present both sides of the story called journalist integrity. The simple fact is the Editors call the shots and they follow the state political agenda on commercial wind turbines with you the taxpayers footing the bill.
The study introduced last Monday night October 15, 2018, showed the property location of the private wind turbine but failed to show the location of the privately owned 110-decibel wind turbine in relation to the new location of Falmouth Wind II. The placement of the Falmouth Wind II turbine in the new location in close proximity to the privately owned wind turbine ensures years more litigation.
These wind turbines at 110 decibels do produce infra sound or what is called low-frequency noise. There is nothing to say employees at up to 15 business locations could be affected by the introduction of Falmouth Wind II.
The speaker for the study referred to the Falmouth Technology Park as an industrial location but made no mention of what two 110 decibel wind turbines could affect employees at the business location. There is no acoustic noise study for Falmouth Wind I and Wind II operating together and by the same token, no one knows what will happen when the private turbine and Falmouth Wind II combine their 110 decibels on the Falmouth Technology Park.
Employees could be subjected to work-related environmental noise injuries leaving the Town of Falmouth liable for their well being.
Falmouth family physicians can expect to see increasing numbers of patients reporting adverse effects from exposure to industrial wind turbines. People who work in the industrial area of Falmouth with the movement of Falmouth Wind II near to the private turbine could start to experience symptoms that include decreased quality of life, annoyance, stress, sleep disturbance, headache, anxiety, depression, and cognitive dysfunction. Do Falmouth taxpayers want to take that gamble?
The cause of these symptoms includes a combination of wind turbine noise, infra sound, dirty electricity, ground current, and shadow flicker.
Employees working near the wind turbines should keep a record of their health as they may be subjected to adverse effects from two turbines operating together and might experience symptoms that are intense and pervasive to their health.
The Falmouth Technology Park is located in West Falmouth and has one Vestas V-82 commercial type 1.65megawatt wind turbine. The park has around 15 businesses helped by the Falmouth Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC). The Town of Falmouth owns 420 acres at the site.
Taxpayers should be concerned with the move of Falmouth Wind II - ultimately the Town of Falmouth will be held liable again and all those attorneys that bought Mercedes-Benz and sent their children to college on the last eight years of litigation will be trading in their old cars for new ones on your dime.
The Falmouth Select Board has nothing to lose it is the taxpayers that foot the litigation bill.
