Falmouth Wind Turbine Removal Request For Proposal April 2019

Falmouth Town Manager Julian Suso plans to issue RFP, request for proposal for town’s 2 wind turbines at the wastewater plant site in April 2019.

RFP to lease property outside Falmouth or sell the 110-decibel turbines. The neighbors describe the noise as torture.

Barnstable Superior Court Judge Cornelius Moriarty issued the order to shut down Falmouth's Wind 1 and Wind 2 on June 20, 2017. The Massachusetts Appellate Court in the commonwealth has affirmed the decision.

The Town of Falmouth had known prior to construction the Vestas V-82 type 1.65 megawatt wind turbines each produced a chest pounding 110 decibels of noise each. A hard rock band playing 24/7 equals 110 decibels.

The Town has previously ( before August of 2010 ) been provided with the Octave Band Data / Sound performance for the V82 turbine. This shows that the turbine normally operates at 103.2dB but the manufacturer has also stated that it may produce up to 110dB under certain circumstances.
