Falmouth's First Lady of The Chatterbox Passes Away

Kitty Baker

Falmouth has lost the beloved Kitty Baker, longtime writer best known for her heartfelt warm wishes to Falmouth residents for decades.

Kitty Baker was responsible for keeping us all informed of our Falmouth friends' birthdays, anniversaries, around town happenings and the arrival of new babies. She always made everyone feel so special when she mentioned your name in her column with a witty flair.

Kitty Baker served as president, vice president, board-director and treasurer of the Falmouth Theatre Guild from 1960-1975. She went on to direct and produce many shows at the Highfield Theatre through the early 1990's.

Kitty Baker was a regular contributor to the  Sunday Cape Cod Times for years until they moved her column out of print and on to the Cape Cod Times website. Well, this was not good enough for Kitty, so she jumped ship and went to the Falmouth Enterprise, where she continued The Chatterbox column.

Kitty, you were a modern day Katherine Lee Bates with your teaching, directing and writing. You will always live on in the hearts of Falmouth residents for years. Thank you for serving our community and making Falmouth a better place. Rest in peace our sweet friend, and remember, Falmouth loves you!
