Fatal Mashpee Crash: Victim, 13, ID'd

MASHPEE, MA — Police identified a 13-year-old boy killed in a crash Tuesday night as Jeremiah Smith of Mashpee.

Police said Smith was walking on Quinaquinsset Avenue Tuesday when he was struck by a Subaru sport utility at about 8:30 p.m. He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The SUV driver was a 55-year-old Mashpee resident, police said. No charges have been filed.

Smith recently moved to Mashpee to live with a new foster family, according to WHDH-7News.
