Fire Extinguished At Falmouth Disposal Facility
A burning pile of refuse was put out early Wednesday morning at Cavossa Disposal, officials said.
FALMOUTH, MA — A fire was extinguished at Cavossa Disposal early Wednesday morning after refuse in one of the company's trucks caught on fire.
A Cavossa Disposal refuse truck had just returned to their Nathan S. Ellis Highway facility in North Falmouth around 4:30 a.m., officials said.
The driver noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle and dumped the burning refuse in an open area, away from other buildings and combustible material, officials said.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a large pile of refuse burning and were able to quickly extinguish it.
Cavossa Disposal personnel assisted with an excavator to pull apart the pile to ensure the fire was out, officials said.
