Five Local Students Awarded Scholarships
Woods Hole Woman's Club Welcomes Winners at Scholarship Tea

The Woods Hole Woman’s Club has awarded scholarships to five Precinct One high school seniors this year. Angelina Dvorak, Isabelle Edgar, Pearl Johnson, and Ruby Sanger, seniors at Falmouth High School, and Heather Wang, a senior at Falmouth Academy. All attended the Club’s annual scholarship tea on May 1st where members were able to hear about their plans and visit with them.
Angelina Dvorak grew up in Woods Hole and has been dancing for 13 years. She is currently working at Coffee Obsession after school and will be attending the University of Vermont, possibly majoring in psychology.
Isabelle Edgar is also a dancer. She will defer her admission to Stanford University for one year to allow time for professional dance training in contemporary ballet at Hubbard Street Dance, Chicago.

Pearl Johnson has taught swimming to young children in Woods Hole for several summers. This summer she is interning in engineering at WHOI and plans to pursue courses in math and science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Ruby Sanger has pursued art at Falmouth High School, exhibiting in several shows, and is also plays guitar, bass and keyboard and sings in a band. She will attend University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

Heather Wang will be teaching English to children in Shanghai, China, this summer. She will return in the fall to study film and video at the Rhode Island School of Design.
The Scholarship Committee, headed by Priscilla Ruegg, is proud to present Woods Hole Woman’s Club scholarships to so many fine students this year. Donations to the scholarship fund are welcome throughout the year. Checks should be written to the WHWC Charitable Trust and mailed to Kitty Brown, WHWC, PO Box 342, Woods Hole 02543.
The Woods Hole Woman’s Club brings members together to provide enrichment and mutual helpfulness for the betterment of Woods Hole and the surrounding communities. New members are welcomed at any time during the year. Information about membership is available from Carol Casey at 508 299-8330.
