Five Things You Need to Know Today: June 27

Nice weather returns, and still plenty to do after the sun goes down.

1) Partly sunny, and we'll probably skip the rain today. Temperatures should be cool, peaking in the mid 70s, dipping into the mid 60s overnight.

2) The hosts , between 11 a.m. and noon. Elizabeth Davies, MA, CNA, creator of chair yoga, will be on hand to guide seniors through this new take on the ancient practice. Yoga's benefits, which include reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, and sharpening thinking, can be gained even while sitting down. 3) The presents . Historian Michael Willrich recounts the story of America's battle with smallpox, a fight which was neither simple nor uncontroversial. The lecture takes place at the , beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $4 for members, $5 for non-members.
