Girls Hockey Team Needs Help Going to Nationals

The Cape Cod Storm girls hockey team earned a spot in the USA Hockey National Championships, but they need help with travel expenses. Find out how you can help!

The Cape Cod Storm under-14 girls hockey team rolled to a 4-0-1 record en route to winning the Massachusetts Tier II State Championship Sunday, thereby earning a spot in the USA National Championships, which will take place in Anaheim, California from March 30-April 4. 

This weekend and next, the team will be soliciting donations to help defray the cost of travel to the National Championships.

The Cape Cod Storm is a combined team from Falmouth and Barnstable Youth Hockey and is coached by Scott Ghelfi of Falmouth. Members of the team include Kelly Ferreira, Hannah Ghelfi, Madison Haberl, Madison Scavotto and Kendall Stouffer of Falmouth.

The team will solicit donations the next two Saturdays, March 19 and 26, at the following locations: Dunkin' Donuts, North Falmouth (8 am-noon); Dunkin' Donuts, Falmouth Center (8-10 am); Stop and Shop, Hyannis (10 am-2 pm); Shaw's, Hyannis (10 am-2 pm); and the Centerville Post Office (9 am-noon).
