FALMOUTH, MA — The holiday season is officially over, which means residents across Cape Cod are likely preparing to take down their Christmas trees.
In Falmouth, residents have the entire month of January to do so.
Residents can dispose of their trees at Falmouth's Yard Waste and Leaf Compost facility, 565 Blacksmith Shop Rd.

Christmas Trees are accepted only in the month following the holiday and must be left in the area designated for them, officials said.
Trees must be completely bare and free of tinsel, lights, cords or other embellishments. They will be chipped and added to the public wood chip pile, officials said.

The facility is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is free for residents of Falmouth to dispose of their tree.
