There may also be gardening activities. The building is designed with child safety in mind, featuring soft corners, non-toxic materials, and secure fencing around outdoor areas. Access points are monitored and locked to ensure only authorized individuals can enter. There’s a first aid kit and trained staff on hand at all times to handle any emergencies. The classrooms and play areas are spotless, with an abundance of natural light streaming in through large windows. The space is well-organized, with age-appropriate toys, books, and learning materials accessible to children. There’s a cozy reading nook, art stations, and sensory play areas where kids can explore their creativity. Our staff is certified in child development, first aid, and CPR, but they also have a genuine passion for working with children. The little boy joins his parents Brewster, 29 and Shelby, 27, and big sister Cecilia (who is 16-months-old), of Sandwich for the new decade. Callan was born at 1:31 a.m. on Jan. 1 and was weighed in at 9 pounds, 6 ounces. The Knowltons first moved to the Cape three years ago and fell in love with the region. They decided to move to Sandwich from Somers, Connecticut, and start their family. As of Thursday afternoon, no babies have been born at Cape Cod Hospital in 2020.
