At Least 1 Falmouth Life Guard Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Some Falmouth beaches will operate with fewer lifeguards on duty for the time being.
FALMOUTH, MA — At least one Falmouth lifeguard has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to town officials.
Town Manager Julian Suso said the town learned one or more lifeguards tested positive for the virus.
"At this time, we are awaiting those test results to enter the state's reporting system," Suso said in a statement. "Health Agent Scott McGann is working with Visiting Nurse Association representatives in pursuing comprehensive contract tracing as per state protocols."

Free coronavirus testing for all town lifeguards and beach staff was also made available at Falmouth Hospital. Town officials said scheduling for tests is expected to begin Tuesday.
Suso said some Falmouth beaches will operate with fewer lifeguards on duty for the time being.

"This information will be posted accordingly," Suso said. "We are guardedly optimistic that beach parking monitor positions can continue to be regularly staffed."
