Longtime Falmouth Diner Shuts Down

The Main Street restaurant is expected to be torn down by its new owner.

FALMOUTH, MA – A longtime vintage diner on Main Street closed this month. Betsy's Diner shut down Jan. 19 following a years-long decline in business, the land owner told Capenews.net.

The dining car was built in 1957 and moved to Falmouth from Kuhnsville, PA in 1992. The restaurant has been operated by David and Karen Chandler since 1994.

The property was sold Jan. 29 to a developer that has done work on Main Street before, Capenews.net reported. The buyers will not maintain the building and will instead "start from scratch," the land owner told the site.
