Man Breaks Into Otis Air Base, Fights Officers: Police

Police said Harold Lamotte, of Rhode Island, sped through an Otis air base checkpoint this morning and fought officers.

Bourne, MA — Police said a Rhode Island man Sunday morning sped through an Otis Air National Guard Base gate, crashed into a pole, then fought officers and tried to escape.

Harold Lamotte, 31, of Charlestown, faces a host of charges.

Police said at about 1:40 a.m., Lamotte failed to stop at the base's Bourne gate, sped off and turned on Estey Road, where he hit a pole. He was combative with officers and tried to escape custody, police said. He was charged with:
