More than 100 local works in Members Blue Ribbon Exhibit

Falmouth Art Center’s Members Blue Ribbon exhibit is often the largest show of the year. Any member of the organization is allowed to submit one work. This year, the exhibit has 114 works of art by local artists.
The show is on display through August 29.
The “blue ribbon” part of the show is that an art professional chooses their favorite works and those receive a blue ribbon. This year, artist Hillary Osborn of Falmouth awarded 14 blue ribbons to her favorite pieces in the show.

Ms. Osborn said she really enjoyed all the pieces in the show. “Each piece is compelling and worthy of honor and praise,” she said.
For the blue ribbons, she said she was looking for works that drew her in from across the room and she felt they were “transformative.”

The following artists received blue ribbons: Sally Casper of Boston and Woods Hole, “Summer Afternoon,” watercolor; Tom Keleher of East Falmouth, “Chappy Afternoon,” oil; Walter Knox of Falmouth, “Tree Swallow Argument,” photo; Amy Kaufman of East Falmouth, “Tulip View,” acrylic; Celeste Kramer of Mashpee, “Hydrangeas,” pastel; Joyce Zavorskas of Orleans, “Connection,” monoprint; Susan Elizabeth Clark of Teaticket, “Reef,” fiber; James Weinberg of Falmouth, “Welcome Home,” oil; Gary Yablick of Falmouth, “tall bottle,” ceramics; Nan Fuhrman of East Falmouth, “Ashumet Sunset”, acrylic; Ann Worthington of East Falmouth, “Kitchen Sink #2,” photo; Marian Ehrlich of Osterville, “Three Monarchs,” acrylic; Alice Nicholson Galick of East Falmouth, “Stargazer II,” monoprint; Candace Collier of Marstons Mills, “Kaleidoscope in Green,” stained glass.
