Nantucket Can Expect 7 to 8 Blade Failures Per Year

In six months the same Offshore Wind company had 3 blades fall into the ocean at Nantucket and Europe.

Nantucket has 21 turbines installed while Europe has 27 a total of 48.

48 turbines @ three blades each equal 144 blades a failure rate of over 2 percent in 6 months and over 4 percent a year.

The Nantucket project alone will have 62 wind turbines with 186 blades.

Either by construction accident or manufacturing mistakes the Nantucket project odds are bad.

Based on the current 4 percent plus yearly failure rate between 7 and 8, turbine blades will fail at Nantucket in one year. A gamble no one can afford.

Wind turbine debris after months still being found today on Nantucket beaches.

Nantucket uses hybrid blades unlike any that have ever been used by other wind companies.

( These blades lack the amount of carbon fiber found in other companies' blades.)

In addition, the 351-foot blades were tested in a 300-foot test site with more than 50 feet cut off.
( Cutting over 50 feet off bypasses torsional testing of the blade as a whole and adds extrapolation by engineers )

The Nantucket wind turbine failed on July 13, 2024.

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE ) is conducting an investigation.
