Nearly 500 Nails Left Upright In Cape Cod Street

Falmouth police collected the nails from multiple roads and even from under cars that were parked in residential driveways.

FALMOUTH, MA — A late night patrol likely helped a few Cape Cod resident avoid a major headache during their morning commute.

A Falmouth police officer patrolled John Parker Road around 2 a.m. on Friday when he found nails lining the roadway.

Officers checked the area on foot and located additional nails on Clark Street, Old Barnstable Road and Prince Henry Drive.

Some nails had even been positioned under vehicle tires in driveways.

Officers and Department of Public Works officials eventually collected 478 nails.

The public is asking anyone with information or camera footage of the incident to contact the department.
