No Injuries In Falmouth Dryer Fire

No residents at a home on Edgewater Drive West were injured during a basement fire this week, fire officials said.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Monday fire in Falmouth was extinguished quickly thanks to fire officials.

Officials received word of the fire at 7:42 a.m. on Monday at a home on Edgewater Drive West.

Engine 25 arrived on location to find light smoke coming from the single-story ranch style house. A working fire was declared, adding Joint Base Cape Cod Engine 407 to the scene, officials said.

A resident of the house reported all occupants were out and the dryer in the basement was on fire, officials added.

Engine 25’s crew made entry into the basement through a rear basement door and located the dryer. The fire was contained to the clothing in the dryer and was extinguished quickly with no extension beyond the appliance, officials said.

The cause fire remains under investigation.
