Shellfishing To Reopen In South Falmouth
Officials closed shellfishing in the area Friday due to expected heavy rains.

FALMOUTH, MA – The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries will reopen shellfishing in the southern waters of Falmouth Saturday morning at sunrise. The agency preemptively closed shellfishing in Nantucket Sound and all harbors and bays that connect to it due to predicted heavy rains Friday.
The following areas will reopen Saturday: Nantucket Sound, Waquoit Bay, Eel River East, Eel River West and Bourne's Pond.
The western parts of town remained open Friday. This includes West Falmouth, Megansett, Quissett and Buzzards Bay. Updates and openings will be posted on the Falmouth Department of Marine and Environment Facebook page.
