Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Cape Cod Crash

A pedestrian was struck by a car on Main Street in Falmouth this week. Their injuries are life-threatening, police said.

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police have updated residents on the status of the pedestrian struck by a car earlier this week, sharing that the man is in critical condition.

On Tuesday around 5:15 p.m., the Falmouth Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in the 614 Main St. area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious 29-year-old Falmouth resident on the sidewalk. Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department responded and transported the victim to an Off-Cape trauma center, where he is currently in critical condition due to life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident, police said.

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

The Cape Cod Law Enforcement Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the Falmouth Police Department in this ongoing investigation.

Initial findings indicate that the man entered the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk, resulting in a head-on collision with the vehicle.
