Show Featuring Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Members On Display Through
Art by members of the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe will be on display for the month of March at Falmouth Art Center.
The show, “Dawnland Inspirations: Mashpee Wampanoag Art,” will be on view from March 4 to March 28 in the Landrau-Partan Gallery at Falmouth Art Center.
The opening reception for the show on March 4, from 4 to 6 PM, is free and open to the public.
Tribe member Paula Peters, who curated the show, said, “this work of contemporary Mashpee Wampanoag artists exhibits a diversity in subject, style, medium but is connected by a common cultural theme and inspiration that comes from their Dawnland heritage. Bringing it all together for this show is a celebration of that heritage in distinctly unique styles of each artist.”

Tribe members whose work is included in the show are the following: Nelson Andrews Jr., Emma Jo Mills Brennan, Hartman Deetz, Natasha Frye, Gail Hendricks Hill, Ramona Peters, Robert Peters and Russell Peters.
The Falmouth Art Center at 137 Gifford Street in Falmouth is free and open to the public daily, Mondays through Fridays, 9 AM to 4 PM, Saturdays 10 AM to 2 PM and Sundays 1 to 4 PM.
