Speeding Septic Truck Crashes, Spilling 500 Gallons in Falmouth: Police

A septic truck crashed in Falmouth over the weekend, spilling 500 gallons of waste. Police said the driver was likely speeding.

FALMOUTH, MA — A septic truck carrying a portable toilet crashed in Falmouth over the weekend, spilling the contents everywhere.

The crash happened Saturday on Sandwich Road at about 11 a.m. Police said the driver was likely speeding in the moments leading up to the crash.

Five hundred gallons of waste spilled in the road and some fell into a storm drain, police said. State environmental officials responded to oversee the cleanup.

The driver was not hurt, police said. The truck is owned by United Site Services of Sandwich.
