Stolen Car Found In Falmouth's Waquoit Bay
No one was inside the car when officials pulled it from the water, and the car's owner had no idea it wasn't in their driveway, police said.
FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police are investigating how a stolen car ended up submerged in the water at the Waquoit Bay Landing boat ramp.
Police responded to the report of a submerged vehicle in the water there on Friday morning. Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department divers responded soon after and checked the vehicle, which was unoccupied.
The Massachusetts State Police and Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Dive teams also assisted at the scene with a detailed water search for anyone who might be in the water.

The registered owner of the vehicle, a Brick Kiln Rd. resident, was contacted and was unaware the vehicle was not in the driveway and confirmed it to be stolen, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing as of Tuesday, police confirmed with Patch.
