Students And Teachers Featured In New Art Shows
Falmouth Public Schools art teachers and students will be featured in two new shows at the Falmouth Art Center this month.
Both shows open on Friday, February 4, and run until Monday, February 28. The opening reception for the shows is today from 4 to 6 PM. The potluck reception is free and open to all.
The following art teachers have their work in the show in the Landrau-Partan Gallery: Corine Adams, ceramics teacher at Falmouth High School; Jane Baker, studio art teacher at Falmouth High School; Karyn Phares, 8th grade art teacher at Lawrence School; Tiffany Van Mooy, 7th grade art teacher at Lawrence School; Aimee Maseda, grades 5 and 6 art teacher at Morse Pond School; Julie Duffany, art teacher at Teaticket Elementary School; Anissa Graff, art teacher at East Falmouth Elementary School; Nancy Johnson, art teacher at Mullen-Hall Elementary School; and Kathryn Sodaitis, art teacher at North Falmouth Elementary School.
Each of the nine art teachers chose works from six of their students to be in the Student Show, which is upstairs in the Sigel Gallery.

“Our local art teachers work so hard teaching that people may forget they are artists, too,” said Falmouth Art Center executive director Laura Reckford, adding, “Their work is amazing.” As for the students, the works range from whimsical ones by the youngest students to sophisticated art created by older students.
The Falmouth Art Center is at 137 Gifford Street.
