SWAT Team Again Called To Cape Cod Residence
Police attempted to make an arrest at a local home, but the man who they believed was inside wasn't found.
BOURNE, MA — A SWAT team operation happened again on Cape Cod, this time in Bourne.
Bourne and Barnstable officers attempted to make an arrest at a residence on Heather Hill Road around 3 p.m.
Officials said they had "reason to believe" that Jerome Trent, 49, was inside the home. Trent has active arrest warrants for assault with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm stemming from a recent incident in Barnstable, police said.

"Due to the nature of the charges against [Trent], the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council’s SWAT Team responded to assist. After a period of time, SWAT made entry into the residence and [Trent] was not located," officials said.
While the operation was unfolding, the area was blocked and residents were asked to remain inside. Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, the Bourne Fire Department and the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services assisted.
