The program, operated by the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, was approved by the board of health last month.

FALMOUTH, MA – The board of health last month unanimously approved a syringe exchange program in East Falmouth, according to the Falmouth Enterprise. The program will be operated by the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, which has leased space at 178 East Falmouth Highway.
Services will include access to and disposal of syringes, testing for communicable diseases, education about opiate overdoses, naloxone distribution and training, and assistance with receiving counseling, treatment and health insurance, the Enterprise reported.
The facility is aiming to open in January and will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some additional training sessions in the evenings.
