These 3 Oscar Nominees First Screened At Woods Hole Film Festival

WOODS HOLE, MA — When the 2023 Oscar Awards are handed out, there's a chance that viewers across Cape Cod will be saying "hey, I know that person."
That's thanks largely to the Woods Hole Film Festival which this year touts three alums who garnered nominations, including a former Filmmaker in Residence.
Josh Seftel, Beth Levison and Sara Dosa all earned nominations for films this year, and all have shown work at the Cape Cod festival, including Seftel and Dosa's nominated works.

"Huge congratulations to Josh, Beth, and Sara, and to everyone involved in all three films. We couldn't be more proud of you," said the film festival officials.
Seftel, the 2017 Filmmaker in Residence, and Levison were both nominated in the Best Documentary Short Film category. Levison was nominated for "The Martha Mitchel Effect" while Seftel was nominated for "Stranger at the Gate".

Sara Dosa's "Fire of Love" was nominated in the Best Documentary Feature Film category.
Both "Fire of Love" and "Stranger at the Gate" screened at the 2022 Woods Hole festival, while Levison's film "Storm Lake" screened in 2021.
