Tow Truck Driver Dies At Scene Of Cape Cod Crash After Medical Event
A 52-year-old Wareham man has died after he collapsed at the scene of a three-car crash in Bourne.
BOURNE, MA — A Wareham tow truck driver has died after he collapsed at the scene of a car accident on Cape Cod.
Bourne police said officers and the tow truck driver were on the scene of a three-car accident on Tuesday around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Nightingale Road.
No one involved in the accident was injured and officers had concluded the accident investigation. The tow truck operator was on the scene assisting with vehicle removal.

Police said the man, 53, experienced a "sudden medical event" while working at the scene and collapsed.
"Officers immediately began to administer first aid, including CPR with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator," police said.

Bourne fire and rescue officials arrived promptly, continuing rescue attempts and transporting him to a nearby hospital.
The man later died at the hospital, police said. His name has not yet been released.
Bourne officials said they often work closely with tow operators, who are an important peer during situations like this crash.
"The members of the Bourne Police Department work closely with the tow operators in our community and rely on them on a daily basis to help keep our roadways open and safe," police said.
"This work is often completed during unfavorable conditions at all hours of the day and night. It is with a heavy heart that we share the details of this incident. Our most sincere condolences go out to the tow operator’s family, friends, and co-workers."
