Traffic Alert: Water Main Replacement Continues In Falmouth

Expect traffic delays on Main Street in Falmouth over the next several days while crews work to repair water mains.

FALMOUTH, MA — A water main replacement project on Main Street began Tuesday and is expected to delay traffic for several days, town officials announced. The work began in front of the entrance to St. Barnabas Church, and Department of Public Works officials expect to install about 150 feet of new pipe each day.

Main Street will stay open to one-way traffic until construction reaches Post Office Lane. From there on, the road will be closed on a block-by-block basis. Parking will be prohibited while crews work at each specific block.

Town officials said they expect they'll need three-to-four days for construction at each block.
