Zoom Art Talk: Salley Mavor’s Enchanting Miniature World

Acclaimed Falmouth artist Salley Mavor’s earliest memories have to do with making things by hand.

“What I make today and how I do it is a culmination of a lifelong search to find ways to translate what I imagine into something real to share,” she said.

A trip into a unique world like no other is guaranteed when Ms. Mavor gives a Zoom talk next week for Falmouth Art Center. The talk is Thursday, April 7, at 6pm on Zoom.

Ms. Mavor is well known for her Wee Folk Studio of miniature people and places. Her new work moves away from the land of innocence and into real world issues and current events.

Ms. Mavor will speak about her art, show off her studio, show photos of her work, show a video of her process and talk about upcoming projects.

The talk is part of Falmouth Art Center’s spring fundraiser, Speaking of Art with four art talks in April. The other speakers are oil painter Joe McGurl, political cartoonist Dave Granlund and London-based muralist ATM. Registration for one talk is $50 or all four talks for $150.

The first 50 people to sign up for all four talks receive a gift bag with a piece of handmade pottery and a handmade woven square made by advanced students and teachers at Falmouth Art Center.
