6th Annual Camp Champions Celebration on November 10th at Fenway Park to Honor Campers who have Received the Gift of Camp

Event to Raise Money for the ACA, New England Campership Fund Helping to Send Children in Need to Day and Overnight

The American Camp Association, New England (ACA New England) is ramping up for its 6th Annual Camp Champions Celebration on Thursday, November 10th at the State Street Pavilion at Fenway Park. ACA New England is doing something different this year by honoring several campers who have received the gift of camp (camperships) through previous Camp Champions fundraising events. The evening celebrates the true spirit of camp, and all net proceeds will help to bring the summer camp experience to the area's children in need through ACA New England’s Campership Fund.

More than 900 children age 6-16 had the chance to attend day and overnight camps in all six New England states as a result of all of the Camp Champions Celebrations over the last five years.

In the true spirit of camp, ACA New England will recognize several campers who have received camperships in past summers.

“Day and overnight summer camp experiences can be life-changing. Our volunteers, sponsors and supporters have worked very hard to raise the funds necessary to give the gift of camp to children in need,” says Bette Bussel, Executive Director of ACA New England. “Our 2016 Camp Champions are campers who have benefitted from Camp Champions Camperships. We are so pleased that they will be recognized at our Celebration at Fenway Park the evening of November 10th.”

For ticketed guests, the evening kicks off at 6:00 pm with a pre-event 360 degree Virtual Reality Red Sox experience. The Celebration begins at 7:00 pm and includes hors d’oeuvres, a delicious dinner buffet overlooking the field, a raffle and silent auction, a program that includes a performance by speed painter Tim Decker, and photo ops with Red Sox mascot Wally and the World Series trophies – an overall fun program designed to delight and inspire a camp-committed crowd of guests.
