Officials Look to Honor Former Mayor Flynn With Monument
A pair of city councilors plan to find a spot in the city for a statue or other monument.
Two Boston City Councillors are reportedly looking to commemorate former Mayor Raymond Flynn with a statue or another form of monument to be placed somewhere in the city.
At a birthday celebration for Flynn held over the weekend, City Council President Bill Linehan and City Councilor Stephen Murphy said they plan to create a commission that would locate an area in the Boston for the memorial in honor of Flynn, who held office from 1984 to 1993, The Boston Globe reported Tuesday.
