Winsor Music: Chamber Series IV -- George Li, piano
Rising star George Li returns to Winsor Music with Brahms Quintet; world premiere of new work by Andreia Pinto-Correia

George Li returns to Winsor Music after winning the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition Silver Medal and a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, performing the Brahms Quintet for piano and strings in f minor, Op. 34. We present the world premiere of Portuguese composer Andreia Pinto-Correia’s quartet for oboe and strings, Dalla Legenda aurea, inspired by Piero della Francesca’s Legend of the True Cross and The Golden Legend, a hagiographic collection by Jacobus of Voragine. The ensemble also performs Peggy’s thoughtful transcription of Brahms’ Three Chorale Preludes.
