• Fitchburg awarded $2.9 million for dam removal (sentinelandenterprise.com) — Fitchburg just secured nearly $3 million in state ECO grant funding to demolish the deteriorating McTaggart's Pond Dam and restore Phillips Brook, improving safety and water quality in your neighborhood. The city also landed a second grant to study possible removal of the aging Overlook Reservoir Dam, aiming to reduce risk in a densely populated area.
• Red Raiders have no answer for Warriors (sentinelandenterprise.com) — Fitchburg High's field hockey team fell 8–1 to visiting Narragansett at Crocker Field, dropping the Red Raiders to 0–7 despite a late goal by sophomore Ivy Antocci. Coach Lucia Antocci praised the team's effort, and the squad now turns its focus to Friday's home clash against Gardner High, giving local fans another chance to cheer them on.
