1 Seriously Injured After Pickup Truck Crashes On I-495

A crash on Interstate 495 north near exit 14 sent a 40-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A man was seriously injured Wednesday morning when his pickup truck crashed into a bridge abutment on Interstate 495 north near exit 14, according to State Police. The single-vehicle crash happened around 6:15 a.m. just north of the exit to Interstate 95. The left and middle lanes were closed while emergency personnel responded to the crash.

The 40-year-old man was trapped inside his truck until firefighters extradited him with a hydraulic cutting tool, fire officials told the Sun Chronicle. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with serious lower body injuries. The injuries are not considered life-threatening. The driver was the only one inside the truck.

State Police are investigating the exact cause of the crash.
