Aaron Hernandez Double Murder Trial: Jury Selected
Opening statements are scheduled for Wednesday.
BOSTON, MA — Sixteen jurors have been selected for the Aaron Hernandez double murder trial, the Suffolk District Attorney's office announced Monday.
The former New England Patriots star's second murder trial is expected to start Wednesday with the swearing-in of the jurors, opening statements, and testimony. Twelve jurors will sit in on the trial while the other four will be alternates.
Prosecutors alleged that Hernandez shot Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Teixeira Furtado, 28, while a stop light in 2012. Hernandez allegedly followed the men and murdered the two after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him at Cure Lounge, a club in the Theater District.

Hernandez is serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.
