Aaron Hernandez Suicide: State Police Release Report on Death
The report details the death of the convicted murderer and former New England Patriots football player.

State police have released the full report that details the events leading up to the suicide of former football player and convicted murder Aaron Hernandez.
The report says after Hernandez was found naked and hanging in his jail cell at about 3 a.m., a "Code 99” was called in. The death was reported at 4:15 a.m., after he was transported to UMass Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, according to WHDH.
Officers at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center found that the door had been pegged by a piece of cardboard that prevented officers from getting inside the cell. Officials had to manually open the door and found a large amount of shampoo on the floor, making Hernandez hard to reach.

At the hospital, officials found marks on his neck, a cut on his finger, large circular blood marks on his feet, and “John 3:16” written in ink on his forehead.
Camera footage confirmed that no one went into the cell after 8 p.m. the previous evening. Several drawings were found in the cell, along with a bible opened to the verse "John 3:16" and three handwritten notes. The details of those letters were not released.
