Alleged Drunken Driver Charged with Driving on Train Tracks

An Attleboro man was taken into custody early Sunday morning after allegedly taking a wrong turn on Mechanic Street.

Francisco Lopez, 34, was charged with drunken driving according to the Foxborough police log.

At 12:29 a.m., police received a 911 call from Cumberland Farms reporting a male that was standing in front of the train tracks near the convenient store. According to the caller, the male told store employees that his vehicle was stuck on the tracks.

When officer Lucas Drayton responded, he confirmed the location of the vehicle on the tracks. The driver told Drayton that he made a mistake and thought the tracks was a street.

By 12:42 a.m., Lopez was taken into custody. No damage to the track or injuries were reported.
