Alleged William Sheehan Victim Files Lawsuit Against Town
The lawsuit is believed to be the first from the Sheehan scandal aimed at the town.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - An unnamed plaintiff has filed a lawsuit to seek damages against the town and the Boy Scouts for failing to stop the sexual abuse that took place by former teacher and scout leader William Sheehan.
The plaintiff, only known at John Doe 1, says he was abused by Sheehan in the 1970s according to the Sun Chronicle. The lawsuit says the plaintiff was assaulted in 1978-79 while he was training to become a lifeguard. At the time, he was 13-years-old.
This is believed to the first lawsuit that names the town as a defendant.

Since 2012, several victims have come forward to say they were abused by Sheehan. The man has never faced charges, however. Due to late stage Alzheimer’s, Sheehan was not arrested when police when police went to his Florida home in October 2012.
