Baker Supports Simplifying Foxboro's License Process For Gillette
Gov. Charlie Baker filed a bill in support of the Foxborough Selectmen's efforts to streamline event licensing at Gillette Stadium.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The selectmen's desire to simplify the town's licensing process for sporting and entertainment events at Gillette Stadium has garnered the support of Gov. Charlie Baker. State Sen. Paul Feeney, D-Foxborough, told the Sun Chronicle Baker filed a bill in support of streamlining the process.
In October, selectmen voted to require just one annual public hearing for a full schedule of events at Gillette rather than having individual hearings for each event. Selectmen also want to change the timing of licenses to run from May 1 to April 30 so that licensing can happen after NFL and MLS schedules are released. The change in timing requires state legislative approval.
Feeney told the Sun Chronicle the bill is being assigned to the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure.
