Beverly Woman Arrested for Striking Trooper After Patriots Game, Drunken Driving

A state trooper was injured by an allegedly drunk driver shortly after the New England Patriots’ game against the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium.

Catherine Williams, 29, of Beverly, was arrested in Foxborough late Monday night and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol according to the Massachusetts State Police.

At 11:47 p.m., a trooper working a traffic control assignment on Route 1 South was reportedly hit by a 2012 Jeep Liberty operated by Williams. The trooper was ambulatory and alert after being hit but was in pain. He was transported by ambulance to Norwood Hospital for medical treatment.
