Bill Belichick Picks Up 200th Win as New England Patriots Coach

The Patriots earned their 13th win of the year with a 41-3 win over the New York Jets

FOXBOROUGH, MA — He probably won't spend much time thinking about it, but if there was a game for Bill Belichick to get his 200th regular-season win as the head coach of the New England Patriots, this was a pretty good week to do so.

It took a near effortless performance from the Patriots to beat the New York Jets 41-3 a game where there was on uncertainty as to which team would win.

The victory was Belichick’s 236th overall win and he remains in fourth place on the all-time list, behind Tom Landry, who picked up 250 wins during his nearly 3-decade run with the Dallas Cowboys. He is now one of five coaches to earn 200 wins with a single team.

The win was led by a defensively-strong performance that saw the Malcolm Butler pick up two interceptions and a fumble recovery against a Jets offense that couldn't get any thing to work.

After Jets quarterback Bryce Petty left the game with a shoulder injury, Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't have better luck.

On the other side of the field, Tom Brady threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns, including one to an unknown tight end who was just signed in November.

Running back LeGarrette Blount added two more scores of his own during a 50-yard rushing day.

The Patriots can clinch the AFC's top seed with an Oakland Raiders loss or a win next week against the Miami Dolphins.
