As I drove south on Rt 140 (Main St) at Rt1 and the continued around the common to Cocasset to OakSt, I decided to count fire hydrants . Saw 18 hydrant flags. And that’s not counting how many other flags not visible. Guess how many were shoveled out? 3 That’s right only 3! 1 on Main St 1 on Cocasset St And 1 on Oak St. Approximately 6 miles of roads. Are all the residents and business owners that busy that they cannot take a shovel or snowblower to clear the hydrants!! The towns have asked the residents to help Maybe it’s not our responsibility. Maybe it should be! Let’s not wait and have to be reactive . If we do it might be too late!
